D E A has ruled that cannabis and THC are Schedule I. THC is the only specific cannabinoid listed. Cannnabis is a plant. Therefore, they have absurdly classified all cannabinoids derived from the plant as Schedule 1 despite the fact the same govt says cannibinoids are "useful" as treatments for a wide range of diseases. This directly contradicts Schedule 1 classification of cannabis under the regulation. The absudity multiplied when D E A classified synthetic THC (Marinol), disagreeable to most patients, as Schedule II. Not to mention that D E A says U.S. hemp oil is banned, but imported hemp oil is just fine.  Still trust alphabet agencies with your lives, health, and wallets?

Schedule 1 criteria
The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical treatment use in the U.S.
There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or substance under medical supervision/.

Assigned to US Dept of Heath and Human Services 1973
"Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties (...) This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses..."
