We ended up having the same issue here in New England with the salt mix being off because of the lower than normal temps. 
On a separate note, The Forrest Gump Lawn & Snow Removal Service was pretty busy Friday, I ended up picking up two new accounts. One's an older retired gentleman who I've never meet before that lives a street over, who just started shoveling his driveway and the other was his neighbor who wasn't home. I'm willing to bet they're both still scratching their heads wondering who the heck it was that snowblowed their driveway. lol
