joey: Glad you enjoyed the article. I do recall several 100mpg carburetor stories. One was Tom Ogle from 1978. He was shot by unknown assailant and survived. Later found dead, overdose with alcohol and painkillers.  (German Karl Benz patented a carburetor and, in 1886, was first to patent a gasoline-powered car. Any relation to Jeff Benz?)

If Big Pharma gets control of mmj like GM and their co-conspirators seized control of transportation options by decimating passenger rail, it will not be good for American consumers. There are usually terrible consequences for humanity and the world when anything of human origination whether it's an industry, company, technology, institution, government or individual grows too big and powerful.

Having dismantled the extensive electric light-rail passenger system,  GM  and their co-conspirators completed the coup through confirmation of GM CEO/Chairman Charles Wilson as Defense Secretary under Eisenhower in 1953. Wilson pushed hard on building massive interstate highway system which he called national defense highway system to get opposed public thinking it was necessary for national security. Hmm, sounds kind of familiar.

Once Americans had little choice except transit by car or plane and most goods were carried by trucks (70-75% by truck), big industries like oil, automobile, rubber, and highway builders were in hog heaven. The Price: decades of dependence on foreign oil; 65% of oil consumption in usa goes to transportation (cars, most,  then trucks and planes). Rail is extremely efficient in comparison.  Oil thirst has led to bankrupting foreign wars, invasions and interventions. The Price: curtailment of our civil liberties, national debt bigger than GDP and $100+ trillion in unfunded liabilities. "What's good for General Motors is good for America." -GM CEO Charles Wilson. Sure, Charlie.
