The Bear's Strategy

Anyone watching the tape on TECO today can see the bears PERT, BKRT, VNDM ask blocking .038/.039. There was a series of ask slaps at .039 that caught the bear's attention, so they got PERT to move down to .038 with 150,000 shares after a quick bid whack.

Pretty much all we can do at this point is wait for the catalysts I enumerated yesterday to play out. In the mean time the bears will keep up their strategy, and the core of their strategy at this point is to cut TECO off from new money.

Most of the people holding right now are the hardcore bulls that understand what is going at after watching months if not years of tape manipulation on this stock. However, this pool of investors is no match for continued dilution at the hands of the bears dropping air shares into our baskets.

What is needed is an inflow of new money. TECO needs new investors to come in off the sidelines and hit the ask to push the bears negative, as opposed to just waiting for the bears to dilute into the bids. However, with tape looking like it is right now, and a major catalyst still weeks if not a month or two away, it is hard to get the new money off the sideline and into the stock.

That is the strategy of the bears, discourage new money in order to deprive TECO of capital inflows and continue to bleed the stock price down as long as they can while hoping for a major foul up.

It is no coincidence that BKRT and VNDM are both institutional MM's that are based in New Jersey. These guys are definitely working in cahoots with one another to move the stock down. Pert is a widely known diluter as well, so no surprise that they are constantly on ask.
