U.S. Hot Stocks: Hot Stocks to Watch
Among the companies with shares expected to actively trade in Tuesday's session are Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SUPN), Noah Education Holdings Ltd. (NED) and CalAmp Corp. (CAMP).
Supernus Pharmaceuticals said Monday the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Orenitram extended-release tablets for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension in certain patients to improve exercise capacity. Supernus developed the extended release formulation of Orenitram under a development and license agreement with United Therapeutics Corp. (UTHR). As part of the license deal, United Therapeutics will pay Supernus certain milestone fees and royalties associated with the commercialization of the product world-wide. Supernus shares jumped 19% to $8.80 premarket.
Noah Education Holdings Ltd. (NED) said that some of its shareholders have proposed to take the company private for approximately $105.3 million. Noah said its board has formed a special committee to evaluate the proposal. Some shareholders of the China-based education company, including an affiliate of Morgan Stanley's (MS) private-equity arm in Asia, will offer the remaining holders $2.80 in cash per share for both ordinary shares and American Depositary shares, a 24% premium to Monday's close of $2.25. Shares rose 18% premarket to $2.65.
CalAmp's (CAMP) fiscal third-quarter profit rose 1.3% as the wireless and satellite communications technologies company reported top-line growth that outpaced an increase in operating expenses. Though results for the quarter mostly exceeded the company's expectations, shares fell premarket to $25.44, down 7.7%, as CalAmp's profit outlook for the current quarter wasn't as strong as Wall Street expected.

Baxter International Inc. (BAX) on Monday issued a voluntary recall for select lots of two kinds of its intravenous solutions due to particulate matter found in the solutions. Baxter said the recall pertains to one lot of its 5% dextrose injection and four lots of its 0.9% sodium chloride injection. There haven't been any reports of adverse events related to the issue, the company said.
T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) has teamed up with Facebook Inc. (FB) to offer users of its GoSmart Mobile service free wireless access to the social network, an arrangement that comes amid growing complaints about data prices.
