The work for phase 2 on the common rail for army has been completed and has been submitted to the Army. They have been reviewing it for some months.
If they are signing a contract for this on December 31st that would be a contract Post Phase-2 success and ...from all the DD I can read...be a commercialization contract.
After a successful Phase 2, there is nowhere to go but commercialization.
SBIR works with the business to make that as easy as possible, both commercialization with the Army...and easing the process for others to get in on a "global" contract. As a small businsess may not have the admilistrative capacity to take on the burden of individual contracts for every comapny that wishes to avail itself of the technology they developed.. SBIR makes it easy.
Here you can search the completed Phase 1 SBIR Summary reports from AFTC as well as see the pending review completion on the Phase 2 summary report.
It's all done but the move to commercial production , from what i can see.
For those who have yet to view this, it is interesting..you can read the final reports from AFTC and see the completed Phase 2 report submission.
