LAS VEGAS, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MetaPower International, Inc. (OTCPK: MTPR) is pleased to announce that MetaPower, Inc has undertaken certain efforts to monetize its intellectual property. In this connection, MetaPower has become a founding member of the IPXI (Intellectual Property Exchange) exchange which has been created to monetize the intellectual property of exchange members. As a founding member, MetaPower has agreed to issue license rights to its patents through IPXI to buyers who are currently or potentially using the Company's intellectual property. IPXI conducted a preliminary appraisal of MetaPower IP prior to offering a founding membership to MetaPower. MetaPower hopes to realize revenue through the sale of IP licenses on the IPXI exchange. However, and in part because IPXI is a relatively new concept, it is not possible at this time to know whether or not this hope will be realized.

Other IPXI founding members include: Philips Intellectual Property & Standards, Com-Pac International, MetaPower, Inc., Ford Global Technologies, LLC, Sony USA, Rutgers University, Northwestern University, University of Utah, University of Notre Dame, Regents University of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory.
