Riga, 2013-12-19 07:46 CET (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- During a teleconference with senior management of AS "Baltic Telekom" on 12 December 2013, Mr. Zotov, a Board member of AS “Telekom Baltija”, confirmed that the company held high level discussions with a major telecommunications provider in the Baltics, in regard to possible acquisition of AS “Telekom Baltija”. These discussions were held prior to the auction for LTE 796-862 MHz and the leading position of “Triatel” in the provision of broadband wireless services in rural areas in the band 450-470 MHz was noted. This was especially relevant for “Triatel” dominant market share in rural areas where it has over 98% coverage.
