WILTON, CT--(Marketwired - Dec 16, 2013) - International Star, Inc. (OTC Pink: ILST), is pleased to announce a Corporate Update.
Today, a crew led by Howard Metzler, VP Operations, and Barbara Carroll, VP Project Development, is at the Van Deemen to collect 500 to 600 pounds of material to send to an independent metallurgical research laboratory for metallurgical testing. The area selected to collect the representative sample corresponds to the same location as the drill hole pulps sent to Skyline testing and should provide a good indication of the correlation between drill hole and bulk sample.
Metallurgical testing will include Bottle Roll and Column Leach tests. The bottle roll takes 96 hours to complete and will determine the optimum feed size using 1", 1/2", 1/4" and 10M feed sizes, including interim and final solution analyses for pH, free cyanide, Au and Ag, with triplicate tail assay for Au and Ag. These results provide information on expected recovery rates and reagent costs. Column Leach Test -- estimated 60 day leach/rinse cycle, including all required analyses (0-60 days) for pH, free cyanide Au and Ag, loaded carbon assays (Au & Ag), all standard physical measurements and drain-down test.
It will take approximately 18 weeks to complete this phase of the project, including 2 weeks for sample preparation, 3 weeks for bottle roll testing, 11 weeks for column testing and 2 weeks for reporting. The scheduling is dictated primarily by the performance of the column tests, and timing adjustments could occur. Once complete, the test results should provide an accurate indication of the results that will be from a pilot plant and final gold recovery.
The team, including consultant Andrew Feltman, will meet with the BLM's Kingman's office, to discuss permitting for a bulk sample and pilot plant. Part of the Van Deemen project falls with a Designated Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) as designated by the BLM. As such, this week's sampling is being done by hand using equipment with engines of less than 10 horsepower.
As results are received and reviewed, the Company will make them public.
