Photo Release -- Exa and RTT Join Forces to Bring State-of-the-Art Visualization to Engineering Simulation

BURLINGTON, Mass. and MUNICH, Germany, Dec. 12, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Exa ® Corporation ( www.exa.com ), a global innovator of fluids simulation solutions for product engineering has signed a partnership agreement with RTT ( www.rtt.ag ), a leading provider of 3D visualization solutions, to extend Exa's simulation solution portfolio with RTT's high-end 3D visualization software and technology. RTT's next generation Stellar viewing technology will be directly integrated into Exa PowerVIZ ® to provide a realtime, highly realistic simulation results visualization environment. Exa will continue to resell RTT's products.

According to Stephen Remondi, Exa's President and CEO, "As physical prototyping increasingly is replaced by digital simulation; it is vital for product engineering and design decision-makers to be able to visualize both the design and simulation results in a photo-realistic environment. RTT's high-end visualization software offerings are a natural extension to our accurate simulation results, allowing effective communication of predicted performance to executive, design, marketing and sales teams. This is the future of product design and engineering communication and this partnership makes it possible today."

Furthermore, the integration of RTT Stellar into PowerVIZ combined with Exa PowerINSIGHT ® will allow automated post-simulation generation, giving users the ability to automatically create highly realistic visual assets on the fly. This turns the accurate flow simulation results created with Exa PowerFLOW ® into high-end, visual analysis and communication assets — all in a single, integrated process.

As a member of the RTT Partner Network, Exa will also resell select RTT products including RTT DeltaGen 12, the latest version of the world's leading high-end 3D visualization software with realtime interaction. This will allow Exa customers to initiate interactive 3D design reviews, engage in augmented reality interaction with simulation models, and navigate scenes through a tablet-based interface, offering all relevant variants and easy navigation. This provides a powerful tool for interactive reviews, immersive environments and management presentations.

"RTT and Exa have each established unique positions within their market segments. While RTT addresses process-oriented 3D visualization solutions across the entire product lifecycle, Exa has penetrated deep into the engineering simulation software and services market for design and development," says Ludwig A. Fuchs, Co-Founder and Board Member of RTT. "From a strategic point of view, we see the collaboration with Exa as a highly valuable best-of-breed partnership that broadens the reach of RTT visualization technology."
