NXT-ID has unveiled some features users can expect from its soon-to-be-launched biometric wallet product, the Wocket.
According to NXT-ID, The Wocket is designed as a replacement tool for all of the cards people typically carry around in their wallet and adds a layer of security as it can only be activated with user biometrics or touch screen authentication.
Specifically, the Wocket is said to be a re-programmable card that supports most payment methods at POS retailers. Users can access their Wocket through voice biometrics or touch screen authentication, and according to the company, no personal information is retained on the Wocket itself.
Set to be launched in the first quarter of 2014, come of the functions and details NXT-ID has announced includes, a card reader that plugs directly into the Wocket itself, card information is erased after each transaction, dynamic mag stripe and QR code are accepted payment methods and it includes replaceable CR batteries.
Just last month, the company announced that it had ported its MobileBio Voicematch algorithm to the device , following the early completion of the voice biometrics algorithm.
In October 2013, NXT-ID filed a patent application for the Wocket.
