Dangerous winter weather across West Central Texas.
A very cold air mass will remain across West Central into early next week. Also, an upper level storm system will move northeast across West Central Texas and produce widespread wintry precipitation. As a result, periods of freezing rain and sleet will continue across all of West Central Texas through Friday morning. Additional accumulations of up to one quarter inch of ice and one half inch of sleet in the warning area will be possible through Friday morning.

- Impacts: with temperatures already well below freezing, ice has already accumulated up to one quarter inch on area roadways. This has resulted in very dangerous driving conditions, and travel is strongly discouraged across the area. Ice accumulations on trees and power lines may cause damage. Perhaps resulting in power outages as well.
- Timing: periods of freezing rain and sleet, moderate to heavy at times, will continue through Friday morning across the entire warning area.
- Accumulations: accumulations of over one quarter inch of ice, and up to one half inch of sleet have already occurred in many locations. Additional accumulations of up to one half inch will be possible through the rest of the overnight hours.
- Dangerous wind chill readings will also be possible, dropping to near zero by Friday morning.
