Back from the trenches
I agree w you Kubi- and as u say we need to keep the info flowing rather than just laying down and dying---
So iggy,as I've tried to tell you iggy many times, stop repeatedly saying re your posts, "real dd-not copy and paste'- which implies everybody else's dd is not real and is just copy and paste
most of your (iggys) posts are copy and paste- iron ore prices and texas case- how does copy and paste nullify the value of applicable info/dd ?- no need to reinvent the wheel when "knowledge" has been doubling ca every 18 months since 1960
e.g weather in Ensenada- no need for us to go to Ensenada to take temp/do our own forecasting-there are specialists who do that-and weather is very important to iron mining
Brazil iron mines are shut down/ rained out 3 weeks at a time and cant load ore until dry-N tropical Australia is similar-wheras CWRN has as perfect weather as u can get-enough ground water but probably under 10" precip due to lee/rain shadow side of coastal range-yet only 7 crow miles from ocean
Another example-lots of people wanted to know whether theres a useful webcam at port, but only medi was brave enough to publicly ask- so instead of simply casually tossing the question aside I look up every conceivable source for such, and instead of condescendingly just saying, "take my word for it",openly and transparently take everybody on a copy and paste adventure/ journey in real time so we can all learn from it and see for yourselves, just as i did w my calculations on the shipping costs of a Panamax in Oct 2011 and many other things
plus all together we've written a book of original dd also -we need everybodys dd -as in every group /organization there are only a few people who do the work-so we need everybodys contribution
On my part, I didnt start posting w any idea of being a dd king as 1 basher calls me -just to fill a needed info gap-and I've used every audience participation tactic possible to get more involved/ to post without bashing-even playing dumb to coax others to take over certain dd duties- because the hangout was purposefully created as an alternative to the shorters bashing boards -
w the hangout as a place where REAL DD could be done- and all honest dd is real-whether copy and paste or original -it takes "knowledge" and sometimes wisdom to know where and when to dig up copy and paste dd also
