eBay Revolutionizes Retailing and How Consumers Make Purchases

CORONA, Calif., Dec. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AVT, Inc. (OTC Markets: AVTC) (www.autoretail.com), a leader in automated retailing systems, micro-stores and kiosks, announced that their type of innovative automated retailing systems are growing in popularity as industry giants plunge into the market.

Companies like eBay have created new digital storefronts for Toms Shoes and Sony, and offer a vision of the future of shopping -- one where you can shop anytime, anywhere, and on any device.

AVT has helped pioneer this new approach to retailing that melds a brick-and-mortar mall with online shopping. Traditional retailers are now embracing this new paradigm, engaging consumers and better serving customers through these new technologies.

Steve Yankovich, eBay's vice president of innovation and new ventures, said that the beauty of this revolution in retailing is that it can bring the mall to anywhere people are located. "We're going to take this technology and move it out of the mall," he said. "Anywhere people are waiting, congregating, or milling about."

These systems use large touchscreen panels on which shoppers can browse virtually through a selection of products and then make a purchase. The storefronts are customizable in look and size. Sony decided to create a display that took over an entire wall and had sensors programmed to sync the movement of its product images with the movement of anyone standing in front of it.

"We are thrilled that companies such as eBay and Sony are getting into Automated Retailing," said Shannon Illingworth, Founder and Chairman of AVT. "Their endorsement of this growing sector is further validation that we are in the right business, at the right time, with the right products," he added. "We are supremely confident in the future growth of our company and our industry."
