Did anyone catch the report in Utah where a Mormon bishop disguised himself as a homeless man and tried to engage parishoners outside one of the church's in his district? Most of the parishoners wouldn't even look at him, acknowledge him, or show him even the slightest bit of common courtesy.
When the time came for the sermon (I am not a Mormon so am not really sure what they call this part of their service or if it is an integral normal part of their service) he walked up the aisle to the front of the church, took off his disguise, and made the parishoners aware of how he had been treated and that they should look into their hearts to determine who they were and how they should treat others.
Should make us all realize that we never know when we are being tested and how a little common decency that would require so little effort from each of us lucky enough to be blessed with good health, a loving family, a job, or financial success could mean quite a lot to someone hanging onto hope by a thread and how maybe our small effort could change a life.
I hope we all find enormous financial success from our investment decisions but that we always remember how fine the line is between success and hard times in life.
One of my favorite songs is Il Divo/Celine Dion's "I Believe in You" and the line "be yourself an angel of kindness" a way to try and live your life. If you haven't heard this song before, listen to it on Youtube as it will be my Christmas present to you in bringing it to your attention.
