Smoking Vs Vaporizing: Do you know what you're putting in your lungs?

The vaporizing of medicinal plants has been going on for centuries, but only in the last few decades vaporizing marijuana has become a growing trend of healthy techniques for cannabis consumption.
F or those who still might not know, a vaporizer is a device that heats up dried herbs to a precise temperature at which they release their active ingredients into an aromatic mist vapor. In this process the plant is not burned or combusted , and thus no smoke is generated. Although vapor might look like smoke, it doesn't contain any of the toxic by-products ( benzene, toluene, naftalene, tar etc. ) which make smoking marijuana a potential health hazard over extended use.
What is the difference?
There is a huge difference in the quality of herb one receives when vaporizing versus smoking their plant substance. For example, when one smokes a joint or uses a pipe approximately 88% of the combusted smoke gases contain non-cannabinoid elements, most of which DO NOT get you high and more importantly increase potential health risks. Alternately, when one uses a marijuana vaporizer the vapor mist and gases that are inhaled consists of approximately 95% cannabinoids, commonly known as the psychoactive ingredients that calm the mind and soothes the body. Vaporizing is a cleaner, healthier and more efficient alternative to smoking.
Function of Vaporizers
The common design of marijuana vaporizers is to allow efficient intake of active cannabinoids, while avoiding majority of the harmful elements that might exist on the substance. Most of the currently available vaporizers in the marketplace use electricity to power the heating element. While older models allow changing the temperature manually, the latest vaporizer models allow temperature to be adjusted digitally. The function of the device allows direct air flow heating the herbs which fills up a bag, whereas others vaporizers require the consumer to generate this air flow by inhaling through a tube. In 2008, battery powered portable vaporizers emerged in the marketplace and in 2012 it is come industry standard for vaporizer manufactures to showcase a portable model perfect for on-the-go.
Latest Therapeutic Research
A study in the Harm Reduction Journal , reported regular users of joints, blunts, pipes, and water pipes might decrease respiratory symptoms by switching to a vaporizer. After seven completed trials between 2002 and 2012, with five studies published and two pending, California researchers say research shows marijuana does, in fact, have therapeutic value . $8.7 million-funded in research grants have shown that marijuana, indeed, offers quite a broad range of relief and wellness benefits such as for stroke victims, HIV patients, nerve damaging diseases, low appetite, nausea, and an overall increase quality of life. At the very least, the studies challenge the DEA's classification of marijuana especially when vaporized.
