How do you know for certain that the selling pressure is eminating from only one seller?
Many are stating that VFIN is dumping but that does not necessarily mean it is a single market participant selling. In fact, we dont even really know if they are selling shares they previously held long or if these are all just newly borrowed and shorted shares they are dumping on the bid just to crush the stock price in an attempt to kill the momentum which has been recently bringing in a flood of traders pushing the stock higher and higher, which we all know puts margin pressure on their massive short positions. It looks to me like the shorting basher cronies are at it again, doubling down on their massive shorting campaign just to nip this upward move right away, possibly because it may be too risky for them to have momentum building in the stock pushing it up past the 200 DMA. Why? If the stock consolidated for a couple days above the 200 DMA it would light up on many traders radars and alert them to bullish movement which would bring in massive volume that would probably push the stock much much higher and then there is a real threat that the stock could sky rocket and leave the shorts insolvent. Remember, the risk of any short position is unlimited so it is a very risky game they are playing. It is critical for them to make certain that they crush any upward move before it happens and maintain total control over the buying pressure so as to keep it contained, whatever the cost, so they can bank on the downward move it causes or else give themselves time to unwind the short position if they see they cannot contain the eventual move of the stock. Business as usual for the shorts, as I always say, as long as they are willing to put enough capital to work to double and triple down on short positions to overwhelm whatever buying pressure exists on any given day, they can print whatever pink sheets stock price they wish, I am not holding my breath for daily gains in this stock until major fundamental shifts occur either with the company or the stock or both.
