Drop in oil prices fuels stock futures
MADRID (MarketWatch) — U.S. stock futures remained above milestones reached last week, pointing to a stronger start for Wall Street on Monday, as investor appetite for risk increased and oil prices fell after Iran and five global powers reached a nuclear deal.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average (CBEJZ3) rose 65 points, or 0.4%, to 16,092, while those for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index (GLC:SPZ3) rose 6.1 points, or 0.3%, to 1,807.30. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index (GLC:NDZ3) gained 13.75 points, or 0.4%, to 3,433.75.
The data calendar is largely empty, outside of pending home sales for October, due at 10 a.m. Eastern Time.
