Identive Simplifies Physical Access by Including Velocity Security Management Software With Its HIRSCH Controllers

SANTA ANA, Calif., Nov. 20, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- In an industry first, Identive is now including an unlimited version of its award-winning HIRSCH Velocity™ security management software with every HIRSCH controller purchase. Identive's access control customers no longer need to separately order Velocity software or calculate the number of doors or other system variables -- each new controller purchased will automatically include Velocity Unlimited Edition. The bundled solution allows access control systems of any size to be expanded without the need to buy additional licenses.

"The security technology behind our access control and identity management solutions is sophisticated, but buying it should be simple," stated Larry Midland, President of Identive. "By including Velocity with our HIRSCH controllers, customers get the software they need without the headache of having to figure out what they should order, or what their future costs will be as they add on to their systems over time. Many of our competitors have extremely complicated licensing schemes, based on number of doors, number of clients, and additional license fees whenever their systems are expanded. We are offering a simple pricing structure that makes life much easier for our customers and distribution partners."

A dealer's perspective on the new pricing was offered by Michael Kordick, vice president of Baker Group in Des Moines, Iowa. "Identive's move to a bundled pricing structure will make a significant difference in our ability to offer great service to our customers. Including Velocity with every controller purchase removes the hassle of having to configure every order and quote separately for every software feature. Both hardware and software are needed in an access control system, and Identive's leadership in changing its pricing to reflect this is great for the market."

HIRSCH Velocity is a next generation software security management solution that builds on more than 25 years of reliability and real world experience to seamlessly integrate access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance and recording, photo ID badging, smart cards and biometrics, and is interoperable with other building and business systems. The latest software version, Velocity 3.5, enables administrators and operators to access real-time system information, enrollment, threat assessment, and control functionality from both desktop and mobile devices.

Identive's HIRSCH Velocity software and HIRSCH controllers provide high assurance access control and security management for customers in the government, enterprise, healthcare, education and critical infrastructure markets. Identive's newest controller, the HIRSCH Mx™, features a modular design and scalable architecture that allows small customers to deploy strong authentication at an affordable price point and installations of any size to grow, from a single controller system to a larger, multi-site enterprise. HIRSCH Mx offers support for legacy, current as well as anticipated future standards, and can be upgraded in place to accommodate the introduction of converging identification credentials such as NFC mobile phones, and high assurance credentials including PIV, PIV-I, biometrics and PLAID.
