SMA Affirms Status as Number One Utility-Scale PV Solutions Provider in Canada with 100 MW Order
SMA Wins Long-Term O&M Services, Provides Inverters for Grand Renewable Solar Project in Ontario
TORONTO, Nov 19, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SMA Canada has been chosen to supply solar inverters and operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the Grand Renewable Solar project, a utility-scale, ground-mounted PV system located in Haldimand County, Ontario, Canada. Upon commercial operation, and for the next decade, SMA Service will assume operational management of the 100-megawatt PV system from Grand Renewable Solar LP. Early next year, SMA will begin delivery of the 130 Sunny Central 800CP-US inverters that will power the system, which will be the largest of its kind in Canada when complete.
"SMA's all-inclusive O&M services and world-class central inverters are in high demand among investors and plant owners of large-scale PV plants in North America and abroad," said Henry Dziuba, president of SMA Canada. "SMA's selection as its O&M and inverter provider solidifies our position as Canada's number one utility-scale solutions supplier."
SMA recently introduced plant-wide O&M services as part of its top-ranked service portfolio in North America. Available in three plans--Preventative, Proactive and Performance--SMA O&M provides essential to comprehensive services, which increase performance ratios, protect power production and simplify long-term planning. In addition to these plans, SMA offers individual services that can be integrated in a flexible fashion, resulting in a highly customized O&M solution. Project owner Grand Renewable Solar LP selected the Proactive plan with additional support services.
"Because of its size and scope, the Haldimand solar project requires investment-grade O&M services," said Daniel Soper, one of the development partners with Grand Renewable Solar LP. "With its 30-year history, top-ranked service and technical expertise, we are proud to select SMA as the operations and maintenance operator for this important project."
