There is nothing in the world that will stop an argument more quickly than someone who knows what he's talking about.
Lets see if we can estimate the value of providing Charter Media (East and West) with sufficient Hypercaster B1000 systems to cover their requirements. And then we can see what future potential there is from just this single (of many) customer of Telvue.
Charter Media - Markets
Quote:
East Market
The footprint of the East spans across six states – Alabama, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia – and nine DMAs. Sports programming delivers big ratings in this area with the popularity of NASCAR, Major League Baseball, College Basketball, the NFL, and College Football – including the Auburn Tigers & Alabama Crimson Tide, National Champions the past 2 seasons.

West Market
The Western Region includes 4 states – California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. We cover 5 different DMA’s with 14 sales offices. The West is home to a group of audiences diverse both in demographics and geography and area college and professional sports teams have large passionate followings.
So, thus far, we see that Telvue is supplying Charter with Hypercasters to permit ad insertion into the traffic stream in at least 14 markets.
Since one of the selling points for such advertising is that it can be customized for individual markets, I am assuming that each market must have its own Hypercaster system to support its needs.
So now we need to look at the channel complement which Charter provides to its media markets. Here is a list I obtained from a Charter site:
A&E Network Food Network HD NFL Network
A&E Network HD Fox News Channel Nickelodeon
ABC Family Fox News Channel HD Outdoor Channel
AMC Fox Sports Midwest OWN
AMC HD Fox Sports Midwest HD Oxygen
Animal Planet FX Root Rocky Mountain
Animal Planet HD FX HD Soap Net
BET G4 Speed
Big Ten Network Golf Channel Spike
Bravo Golf Channel HD Style
Bravo HD GSN Hallmark Channel Syfy HD
CMT HLN TBS
CNBC HGTV TBS HD
CNN HGTV HD The Weather Channel
CNN HD History TLC
Comcast SportsNet New England History HD TLC HD
Comedy Central Lifetime TNT
Comedy Central HD Lifetime HD TNT HD
Discovery Lifetime Movie Network Travel Channel
Discovery HD Lifetime Movie Network HD Tru TV
Disney XD MSNBC TV Land
E! MTV Univision
ESPN MTV2 USA
ESPN HD National Geographic USA HD
ESPN 2 National Geographic HD VH1
ESPN 2 HD NBC Sports Network We TV
Food Network
Call it about 80 channels. Now, from the TelVue information about Hypercaster, we know that each server can support up to 20 channels at once. Thus, to cover this array of channels would require a minimum of 4 servers per market. Since the loss of a server would cause a direct impact on cash-flow, I am assuming that there is a 100% redundancy designed into the purchased systems.
Hence, I am assuming that each market will require a minimum of 8 servers, for a fully deployed system.
If we multiply 14 markets X 8 serves per market, we get more than 100 servers in just the Eastern and Western Divisions of Charter.
That sounds like a lot of dollars to me. And then one needs to look at installation, support, maintenance and upgrade contracts for the servers.
But wait, there's more!
After looking into Charter Media a bit, one can see there are additional Charter Media divisions serving a number of additional markets. In fact there are 35 additional markets listed by Charter Media as ones they serve. So, if Hypercaster works out well in the Eastern and Western Divisions, can we anticipate future growth into the following?
Quote:
Great Lakes Market
The Great Lakes Region includes 3 states- Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Northern Illinois. We cover 13 DMA’s with 14 sales offices. Our market is diverse in demographics and geography and is home to three national football teams and major league baseball teams, two national hockey teams and four Big 10 college teams.
Quote:

The Midwest Region includes 3 states – Missouri, Illinois and Nebraska. We cover 9 different DMA’s with 9 sales offices. The Midwest is home to some the most popular sports teams in the nation including the St. Louis Cardinals and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Midwest Region has maintained a stronger economy than other areas of the country due to lower unemployment rates.
Quote:
Mountain States Market
The Mountain States Region includes 4 states – Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah. We cover small towns to large cities in 13 different DMAs. The Mountain States celebrate an active audience and a diverse range of demographics spread across the wide Rocky Mountains.
