After Hours Buzz: News Corp, Rackspace Holdings, Hologic & more
News Corp – The media company and owner of the Wall Street Journal reported adjusted earnings per share of 3 cents on revenue of $2.07 billion versus expectations of 5 cents on revenue of $2.2 billion. Its shares fell in after-hours trading.
Sotheby’s – The auctioneer reported a GAAP loss of 44 cents a share on revenue of $108 million, coming in better than expectations calling for a loss of 47 cents a share on sales of $70 million. Its shares rose in extended-hours trading.
Rackspace Hosting – The provider of cloud-computing services posted earnings of 11 cents a share on revenue of $389 million, versus expectations of 16 cents a share on sales of $388 million. Its shares slid in extended-hours trading.
Hologic The developer of diagnostic tests for women reported adjusted earnings per share of 39 cents on revenue of $622 million, compared to expectations for 37 cents on sales of $624 million. The company also announced a $250 million stock repurchase, but lowered its first-quarter guidance to 30 cents to 31 cents on revenue of $600 to $610 million, below estimates of 40 cents a share on $642 million in sales. Its shares fell in extended-hours trading.
T-Mobile US – Shares of the wireless carrier fell in after-hours trading after it announced a secondary offering of 66.15 million shares.
