ASCN Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition Program Announces Finalists, Ascom Network Testing Recognized
Ascom Network Testing announced that is has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Fierce Innovation Awards: Telecom Edition, an operator-reviewed awards program from the publishers of FierceWireless, FierceTelecom, and FierceCable. Ascom Network Testing was recognized as a finalist in the category of Network Test & Measurement.
Ascom Network Testing was selected as a finalist for its innovative, industry leading product, Blixt™.
Finalists were selected by an exclusive carrier-only panel of executives from AT&T, Cablevision System Corporation, Comcast, Cox Communications, MetroPCS, Rogers Communications, TeliaSonera International Carrier, and Verizon. All applications were evaluated based on the following criteria: technology innovation, financial impact, market validation, and end-user customer experience. Finalists were selected based on the judges’ scores in each area.
“For the most recent 4G technologies with their vastly higher data rates and complex configuration options, traditional available bandwidth measurements (ABM) are no longer adequate,” says Kenneth Sch?nfeldt, VP Test & Measurement at Ascom Network Testing. He adds, “We have devised an innovative method of ABM, Blixt™, which helps operators to track the bandwidth being offered to their subscribers with great precision and millisecond resolution, but with minimum intrusiveness to have the smallest possible impact on paying subscribers.”
