Ambitious plans for shipping-phase 1 and 2 are either true or mostly fulfilled-given the trouble Brad has seen w the port that would him give him more cause to focus on the ship loading facility
from Navial pdf:
"Expanded Shipping Phases
Phase 1
Existing highway infrastructure between the mines and the port will not permit expansion beyond 200,000 tpm / 2,500,000 tpa [tons per annum/year] in Panamax Bulk Carriers
Phase 2
Scheduled highway expansion to 4 lanes and Ensenada area port improvements will allow increased shipments up to 400,000 tpm / 5,000,000 tpa in Panamax Bulk Carriers
Phase 3
By 2014 we plan to construct a new, private ship loading facility close to the mines which will allow shipments up to 800,000 tpm / 10,000,000 tpa in Capesize Bulk Carriers
Phase 4
Should the well publicized creation of the Port of Colonet occur (which is largely surrounded by our mineral claims) we will have the opportunity to ship additional ore in
Capesize Bulk Carriers which would allow a total of 15,000,000 / 20,000,000 tpa in Capesize Bulk Carriers "
[end of Navial pdf portion]
[govt of course didnt have money for said Colonet port etc- Ensenada has been planning on new commodities terminal for a long time but no finances yet]
