the Ensenada port- CWRN ships load at the ocean si
Post# of 8054
the monstrous May,2013 ship (Ilia) which carried 68069 tons CWRN ore, was technically larger than a Panamax (60000-80000 but usually smaller than 75000 and effective load thru Panama canal usually limited to ca 72000) at a DWT of 80256 -when loaded was 13.7 meters- approaching max berth depth of 14.5 meters, which may be why it didnt carry more ore -
some ore actually had to be removed from the 2nd ship Loreto- left Aug 7-8,2011 w 36002 tons- due to the limiting draft of the Chinese river it had to navigate
the office berth of EIT is only ca 8.7 meters deep -where we see the side of the blue ship - too shallow for more than maybe 35000 plus tons heavy ore
the cabotage (domestic -not export ) terminal is opposite that -closer to us -ca 12.5 meter depth-the other big (35000-55000 ton) ship
ship site coverage is spotty and info has to be pieced from several sites unless u pay $18000 bribe price- I previously noted another ca 56000 ton Supramax ship due 11-15 -see Sept 2011 PR re CWRN desiring 50000-60000 ton Supramax ships (1st discovered or noted anyway by grajekk) and there may be others -spotty coverage -due to its draft it will either be for cabotage berth or 14.5 m EIT berth
despite the size of the top heavy 80000 ton cruise ships they berth at only a 10 meter deep berth
