It seems like SCuM is lashing out because of guilt

It seems like SCuM is lashing out because of guilt and grief from his moms death from cancer. The fact that people are healing with the herb hurts him cause he wonders whether he did all he could have done. It comforts him to say that it needs proper clinical trials and is too expensive/not covered by insurance. Sad story with that guy.
