FireEye Chairman of the Board and CEO David DeWalt to Speak at the World Cyberspace Cooperation Summit

MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 4, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FireEye, Inc. (Nasdaq: FEYE ), the leader in stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, announced that FireEye chairman of the board and CEO David DeWalt will be interviewed at the World Cyberspace Cooperation Summit in Stanford, California on November 5, 2013.

The Cyber Security Summit, sponsored by the EastWest Institute, provides a crucial forum for building international, private-public partnerships and for shaping the agreements, standards, policies, and regulations needed to protect cyberspace.

DeWalt will be interviewed by Bruce McConnell, EastWest Institute's senior vice president and former Deputy Under Secretary for Cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security. The discussion will detail how well-funded criminals and nation-states are targeting government and industry using sophisticated malware to steal, compromise, and even destroy information with increasing frequency. DeWalt will also discuss how individual organizations can better protect themselves and shift the paradigm from reactive to proactive cyber defense.

About FireEye, Inc.

FireEye  has invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. These highly sophisticated cyber attacks easily circumvent traditional signature-based defenses, such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, anti-virus, and gateways. The  FireEye Threat Prevention Platform provides real-time, dynamic threat protection without the use of signatures to protect an organization across the primary threat vectors, including Web, email, and files and across the different stages of an attack life cycle. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 1,100 customers across more than 40 countries, including over 100 of the Fortune 500.
