Alexey Shchedrin Appointed CTC Media's Chief Strat

MOSCOW, Nov. 1, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CTC Media, Inc. ("CTC Media" or the "Company") (Nasdaq: CTCM ) announces the appointment of Alexey Shchedrin as Chief Strategic Communications Officer, effective today.

Alexey will head the Strategic Communications which includes the following functions: Financial Communications and Investor Relations, which will continue to be led Ekaterina Ostrova; Public Relations, headed by Maria Starovoyt; and Communications Support for Television Projects, headed by Elena Shneyderova, who was previously responsible for the CTC channel public relations.

Alexey Shchedrin , 28,was the Director of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at Nord Gold N.V. from 2011 until October 2013, where he was responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the company's financial and corporate communications, as well as investor relations. From 2009 to 2011, Alexey was the Senior Consultant for Corporate and Financial Communications at the communications agency, Mikhailov and Partners.  From 2006 to 2009, he worked at Severstal, LLC., as an investor relations manager.

Alexey Shchedrin graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Moscow State University of Instrument Engineering and Computer Sciences. He has an MBA in Finance at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
