CARLSBAD, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 31, 2013) - AppTech Corp. (OTC: APCX) is pleased to announce the United States Patent & Trademark Office has issued and assigned U.S. Patent No. 8,572,166 "System and Method for Delivering Web Content to a Mobile Device" on October 29, 2013. The patent supplements USPTO 8,073,895 "System and Method for Delivering Web Content to a Mobile Device" which was previously issued on December 6, 2011.
Filed on June 1, 2004, U.S. Patent 8,073,895 was awarded on December 6, 2011, for "System and Method for Delivering Web Content to a Mobile Device," which allows the delivery of any web-based electronic content -- such as pictures, video clips, apps, music, documents, files and other rich media -- to any cellular mobile device via hyperlink in a text message. This technology is now commonly known in the mobile industry as WAP Push which is the standard for all mobile media and content delivery to cell phones. WAP Push is defined as Wireless Access Protocol and occurs when a hyperlink is sent from a web server to any cell phone via text message for the purpose of receiving pictures, video, content and applications.
Transcendent One, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of AppTech, previously agreed to terms to acquire the intellectual property portfolio of Globaltel Media, Inc., which includes several fundamental mobile technology patents specific to mobile media, two-way SMS chat, and mobile payments.
