announced that the company has tapped digital media industry guru Adam Cohen as
its new Chief Scientist. Cohen was previously the Founder and Chief Executive
Officer of Global Media Services, a company focused on enabling corporations to
generate revenue from live and on-demand video streaming applications through a
vast portfolio of managed media services, including ad insertion, pay-per-view,
syndication, digital rights management, mobile video and applications, content
management, and transaction processing and clearing.
Cohen comes to Mindpix with over 19 years of experience and a proven track
record of revenue and value creation in both the public and private sectors.
Cohen has a rich history in the business dating back to 1995, when he founded
and served as Chief Executive Officer of New York-based Live On Line. Live On
Line became an early pioneer in the production, and delivery of streaming and
rich media over the Internet, producing some of the largest streaming broadcasts
and events for customers such as Apple Computer, Arista Records, Comedy Central,
Fox, Microsoft, MTV and Sony Music. Live On Line was acquired by Digital Island
in January of 2000 where Cohen remained and continued to deliver some of the
largest live streaming media entertainment events on the Internet, such as
AC/DC, the American Express Blue Concert Series, Backstreet Boys, Britney
Spears, Metallica, Madonna, N*SYNC, O-Town, and Pink Floyd.
When Digital Island was acquired by Cable and Wireless, Cohen served as its
Chief Media Officer responsible for the overall vision and strategy of their
global Media Services business. His tenure with Cable and Wireless' included
facilitating and supporting a $121MM run rate business in less than twelve
months. He also participated in the acquisition, negotiation, and contracting of
numerous target companies, technologies and transactions which were successfully
integrated into Cable and Wireless globally.
Most recently, Cohen founded and held the position of Chief Executive Officer of
Global Media Services, which was acquired by Catalyst Media Group in September
of 2003 and taken private in 2005. There he and his team were responsible for
revenue development, strategy events movement, managing intellectual property
and content rights, and technology for a major media and sports companies
including Fox, MTV Networks/Nickelodeon, Conde Nast Publications, Big Ten
Networks & Speed, Formula1 and over 105 well-known, leading entertainment and
media Companies.
As Chief Scientist, Cohen will oversee all technical and engineering elements of
the MPIX business including technology development, service delivery for clients
and MPIX-productions. He will also maintain full P&L for the Company's
burgeoning Media Services business and work closely with the its Business
Development team to support revenue and new product development.
