You're Welcome!

A Thank You from GoldNApel.
Hi Everybody,
Chuck and I wish to thank our loyal friends who communicate with each other on the Investorshangout.com message board. Along with the wonderful support, which we appreciate immensely, several of you have been putting together some excellent compilations of the science of medicinal cannabis, and presenting the information in a manner easily understandable by someone without scientific education.
This is incredibly important work that you are doing. It helps the cause immensely. The science is there. It has been proven over and over again. Virtually anyone who spends several hours reading the results of the studies that have shown the efficacy of cannabis in treating cancer has to agree that the potential is huge for the elusive "cure" lying somewhere in this amazing plant.
But lots of people have trouble understanding the language used in the scientific journals, and explaining what is presented in them in a manner understandable to the layman is the best way to show people the immense value of the science we are working with.
The medicinal efficacy of cannabis against cancer seems like a given with what has been proven to date. But in 2007, Science Daily headlined the results of a Harvard study with "Marijuana cuts lung cancer growth in half, study shows." Six years ago! Hardly any new research since then. No big push to find out if the Harvard docs were right. How many have died since Harvard ... that's Harvard!!! ... showed that cannabis is the most promising treatment for cancer being considered by medicine.
A few years earlier, the Harvard announcement would have triggered lot of research funding by the government - research designed to disprove what the doctors had just discovered. But the government quit this practice when they realized that they were unable to dispute the overwhelmingly-positive evidence shown by virtually every scientific study done by qualified researchers. In fact, when they funded UCLA's Dr. Donald Tashkin to carry out the scientific study to prove that long-term smoking cannabis caused cancer, and he showed that cannabis smokers had measurably less lung cancer than non-smokers, they cut back their funding even more. Now Dr. Tashkin is a speaker at pro-medical marijuana events.
So it is up to us. Six years since Harvard had such dramatic results, and they won't even give Doc Abrams some "official" Simpson oil, even after he personally observed 25 stage 4 cancer patients go into remission after its use.
I like to try to see the good in my fellow humans. I like to think that it is just the slow wheels of bureaucracy that has held back this research. I like to think that no human, with an ounce of compassion and humanity, could study the existing science and try to hold back its development for the sake of money. I like to think that no company, no government, no individual could be low enough to try to stifle the development of this science for the sake of personal or corporate profit, once they had studied the science for even one hour.
Perhaps one who is uneducated about the science, or has formed an opinion and does not want to look at the new evidence with an open mind, or does not want to consider a new point of view, perhaps they could continue to try to suppress this technology, but I don't see how anyone who has a reasonable level of intelligence, and has put even one hour into considering what the scientists have presented to date could try to hold this back.
So, I got off on a bit of a tangent, but it is very frustrating to me, as I am sure it is to those of you who have studied the science, seen the potential, and wonder, as I do, how anyone could try to hold this science down for the sake of money.
So as I was saying, I thank you for all your work compiling and explaining the information. If you have written something, or compiled some good information, or find a good link you think would work on our facebook page, please hang on to it for now. I will try to get a "Cool Scientific Submissions from Friends of Berkeley Bio" feature up on Facebook here soon.
And thank you all again. I am really looking forward to meeting many of you sometime down the road. Berkeley Bio / Dharma had a wonderful company picnic in Tilden Park, high on the ridge behind Berkeley, soon after we finalized our relationship with SK3. We are thinking that we will have another one there on the one year anniversary and invite all the friends of BBio and Sk3 and the Care and Hospice Program.
