LAS VEGAS, NEV., Oct. 28, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AFP CONFERENCE – Digital Check Corporation ( www.digitalcheck.com ), a global provider of check scanners for remote deposit, branch back counter, and teller window capture, today introduced the DockXpress™ magnetic stripe reader and USB expansion hub for the CheXpress® CX30 check scanner. . The device is fully modular, docking with the base of the scanner to add MSR card-reading capabilities and two USB expansion ports without increasing the scanner footprint on the countertop. The initial version of the DockXpress is compatible with the CX30 scanner, with additional versions for other scanner models to follow.
The DockXpress is compliant with the PCI Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) requirements for security at the device level. The track 1/2/3 MSR card reader supports data encryption at the read head to ensure that customer information is never exposed.
By docking directly with the scanner and using the same power supply, the device also reduces the number of cables needed for power and data. The two additional USB ports are powered, to allow additional merchant or teller-window peripherals to be plugged in.
The DockXpress interfaces directly with most POS software through a standard USB interface, and is compatible with all existing versions of the Digital Check API.
Demonstration models of the DockXpress will be on display at the Association for Financial Professionals Annual Conference, booth 714, on October 27-29 in Las Vegas. Units will be available for sale in the first quarter of 2014.
