The construction of the plant started in 2012 and within two years a state of the art, modern production facility was built. The total investment of the project amounted to more than EUR 24 million. The new facility meets the highest standards in terms of quality, safety and environment. It will be used to produce a wide range of lubricants for automotive and industrial applications. With the new plant, FUCHS finalizes an important step in China to supply domestic and international customers in many different industries, including automotive manufacturers and automotive supply, steel, mining, food, transportation, off-highway and agriculture with high quality lubricants manufactured to German technological and quality standards. The new facility is one of the largest production locations of the FUCHS Group. It replaces the old and significantly smaller facility in Yingkou, which was opened some 25 years ago. In China, the FUCHS Group operates via two 100% subsidiaries, which together employ more than 300 people. In 2012, FUCHS China generated around 10% of the Group's worldwide sales revenues. The headquarters in China is located at the Shanghai site, which was opened in 2008. FUCHS has more than 15 offices in China, as well as a large number of local warehouses. In 2012, the FUCHS PETROLUB Group generated global sales revenues of EUR 1.8 billion and profit after tax of EUR 207 million. In total the FUCHS Group currently employs a workforce of about 3,800 people in 50 operating companies in Europe and overseas.
