Mediware Launches Free G-code Mobile App CHANDLER,

CHANDLER, Ariz., Oct. 23, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mediware announces the release of its newest mobile application designed for rehabilitation therapy providers. The G-code Modifier App converts many outcome tool results to the appropriate G-code functional modifier values in order to meet Claims-Based Outcomes Reporting (CBOR) requirements, set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) earlier this year.

The app includes more than 90 assessments most commonly used for physical, occupational and speech and language pathology therapists. Clinicians or billing staff can search alphabetically for a specific assessment, input the outcome tool result, select when they are scoring (admission, progress, discharge or goal) and then convert the appropriate G-code modifier. Because many therapists often use the same assessment instruments, the app includes a feature to save your "CBOR Favorites" for even faster access. Since its release on September 30, more than 1,100 people have registered to use the app and more than 4,500 assessments have been converted. Mediware celebrated the milestone by giving the 1000 ^th registered user an Apple gift card.

Mediware launched a free online conversion calculator in December 2012 under the MediServe name, and since that time, more than 375,000 assessments have been converted.
