Review of the App3DTV by Baggymaple ..... **Up

Ok, so I finally tested out the app. I bought a pair of 3D glasses and I must say, the 3D quality I am receiving from my Samsung Galaxy S2 through the 3D glasses is pretty freaking sweet! I am testing out the picture quality from the 3D Movie trailers section that is offered by the application with universal passive 3D glasses I purchased from Best Buy for $9.99. The app gives you a side by side image of a non 3D video picture and a 3D video picture. The movie that I tested out is Transformers Dark Side of The Moon(14 min trailer video, which is plenty of time to see the difference between the two side by side video picture.) When wearing the glasses, the difference is night and day between the two pictures. The picture pops, feels more realistic, the quality is clear and crisp. Truly high quality image off of a small screen. It is just like the 3D movie you watch at the cinema, makes you feel you are there, but in the palm of your hands with less pop, as in nothing that makes you jump if something is flying towards your face. When laying the phone flat, you are still able to see the picture in 3D. However the viewing angle is bad and the picture does not pop out like a hologram or jumps out at you. But when laid flat and you're looking at the phone from a top view it's fantastic. 3D viewing from every angle. As of now, from my phone some angles are just better to watch for comfort(I.E something propping up my phone for hands free entertainment at a 45 degree angle, or holding the phone in the palm of my hands and looking down. I am sure it will be a MUCH different story when watching a movie full screen opposed to split screen. Will Test that out later on today and give you guys more feedback.
I find that the time to download the information from the server is a bit slow weather being on 4G network or Wifi. On the other hand, I believe the cause of the slowness is due to the heavy server use as they upload all the movie media to the server for today's launch. If the slowness continues after the data is on the server, I am sure this issue can easily be resolved by giving feed back to Clark Ortiz and his staff.
Hopefully my review of the application gives you an idea of how the application performs for those who do not currently own it and have been wanting feedback. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and I will do my best to perform and get them answered for you.
$TDEY Long and Strong!
P.S - technically this review is based on the beta version of the app, since the new update/official release is not out yet. However, for beta version it's a thumbs up from me. Excited to see the official release.

QUESTIONS and ANSWERS (Asked By You) .
Q: What type of content does the application have and what is the quality of the actual layout of the app? Is it user friendly for the average joes?
A: If the layout does not change for the official release today, it is user friendly. I know someone posted a picture of the app somewhere. Three tabs at the top of the screen to switch from. (Music videos, 3D movie trailers, 3D Movies. Only two sections available are Music Videos and 3D movie trailer, under the 3D movies section it says, "coming soon." Once under the music section. You have a selection of genera that are large icons which are appealing, some would say have a spunk feel to it. Country, hip hop, latino music, pop, rock n roll, 3D Music videos are the current selections. Under the POP section you have big named artists like Adele, Jay Z, etc...
Under the 3D Movie trailer section, it's large front cover icons of random movies in no particular order or genera. Such as, I Robot, Iron Man 2, Jurassic Park, Men in Black 3, Pirate of the Caribbean 4, etc... Well known movies. However, this is just the trailer section. Could be an indication of what will be offered for the app. But we will not know until later on tonight. Will keep you updated.
Q: Did you just use any red/blue glasses?
A: No, I used passive 3D glasses. They are simple polarized lenses, similar to what you'll get in most U.S. 3D theaters. I believe they are the same as the red/blue 3D glasses. I will research this more.
