Disclosure: During the period from 2007 to June 2013, David Kraus, PhD, inventor of the 3-wheeled mobile elliptical cross trainer called ‘Street Strider’, was President and co- founder of HPN Holdings, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries StreetStrider International LLC and StreetStrider Enterprises, Inc., exclusive manufacturer of all StreetStrider models. After severing all relationships with HPN Holdings, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries on June 23, 2013, Dr. Kraus joined Cal-Bay International, Inc., as a Product Design Consultant in order to help develop products, intellectual property and educational materials in the vehicular, automotive and respective health and fitness sectors.
The StreetStrider, currently the most recognizable mobile elliptical cross trainer, was developed based on a patent submitted in 2005 by David Kraus, PhD, and is produced by HPN Holdings, Inc., which holds the original single patent. The StreetStrider has proven the concept of the popularity of mobile elliptical cross trainers, with sales increasing annually since 2009 to a reportedly over Five Million Dollars in 2012.
