“Broadvox's global IP-based network serves carriers, ASPs, ISPs and more than 10,000 businesses and 4,000 partners nationwide .”
Cloud provider Fusion Telecommunications International Inc. announced last week it plans to acquire the customer base and certain assets of Dallas-based Broadvox LLC's cloud business for $32.1 million. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
Fusion intends to integrate the acquired network infrastructure, operating platforms and personnel into its own NBS Business Services division, which was formed following its acquisition of Network Billing Systems in fall 2012. In addition, the company expects to add Broadvox customers and channel partners to its distribution network.
"This agreement is an important step forward in Fusion's growth strategy and complements our own organic growth with the addition of 5,800 small, medium and large cloud communications business customers," said Fusion CEO Matthew Rosen in a Sept. 12 press statement. "We expect that this acquisition will be accretive to Fusion's earnings from day one."
Rosen said that Broadvox's cloud business generated unaudited annual revenue in 2012 of approximately $30.9 million — more than 90 percent of which is monthly recurring revenue.
Fusion offers voice, data, managed network services, cloud computing, storage, IT, data center services and security. Its solutions are targeted to vertical markets, with a strong focus on HIPAA-compliant solutions for the health-care industry.
