The store will offer merchants the ability to purchase discounted terminals in order to support their transition over to processing chip-based credit cards. With the deadline for EMV implementation approaching, providing merchants affordable equipment and training has become an important initiative for Signature Card Services as they prepare merchants for this change.

While a variety of EMV terminals will be available at highly discounted rates, Signature Card Services is also offering the terminals for free with the activation of a new merchant account. In addition, they are also providing valuable education on how to use and derive optimum benefit from the terminals through a series of on-site video tutorials.

One of the primary reasons the industry has embraced EMV technology is its ability to prevent the growth of fraudulent activity. EMV improves security while lowering PCI compliance costs due to the chip-based "smart cards" that store encrypted data that prevents credit card cloning.
