ROCHESTER, N.Y. and BOSTON, Oct. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics (OTCQB:LCDX), formerly Lucid, Inc., announced that the Company's VivaScope ® cellular imaging system will be featured at the 1st Latin American Congress of Dermoscopy on October 17-18, 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The FDA-cleared VivaScope devices provide patients the option of a painless, noninvasive optical skin biopsy in lieu of expensive and painful traditional skin biopsy while also having potential applications in several other medical and research specialties.
Caliber I.D.'s Brazilian distribution partner, Emdutos, is set to exhibit at the conference and will provide live demonstrations of the VivaScope ® 3000 portable handheld confocal microscope, which has been designed to provide access to imaging lesions in areas of the body, such as eyes, ears and scalp—or anywhere else on the body—that are not easily reached with other confocal devices.
Additionally, Giovanni Pellacani, M.D., a professor of dermatology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy, will conduct a series of talks as well as a roundtable session at the conference on the topic of confocal microscopy.
