ForeScout Introduces New ControlFabric Technology Partner Program to Advance Network Security Capabilities Through Collaboration and Integration with Industry Leaders

CAMPBELL, Calif., Oct. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ForeScout Technologies , Inc., a leading provider of pervasive network security solutions for Fortune 1000 enterprises and government organizations, today introduced its new ControlFabric Technology Partner Program , designed to encourage industry-leading developers, system integrators and customers to integrate CounterACT with other security and management systems. The new partner program provides advantages for ForeScout's growing IT ecosystem and builds upon the more than 60 existing integrations. Nearly 30 technology partners, including new members Motorola, Palo Alto Networks and Splunk Inc., have committed to the program.

At the cornerstone of the program is ForeScout's ControlFabric platform , announced today (see  http://www.forescout.com/press-release/foresc...-platform/ ), which enables enterprises to more rapidly respond to a range of enterprise security and operational issues. The ControlFabric platform offers a standards-based integration mechanism that allows disparate security and management systems to communicate bi-directionally with the platform and, ultimately, the ForeScout CounterACT  network security appliance.

The ControlFabric Technology Partner Program allows ForeScout to further collaborate with industry-leading hardware and software vendors, examine ways to team their solutions with ForeScout CounterACT™ and deliver greater customer value. Partners enjoy the ability to differentiate their offerings, leverage CounterACT and ControlFabric capabilities, participate in joint go-to-market programs and explore new business opportunities. The two participation program levels, partner and gold, are determined by the level of commitment to the program and adoption by customers employing the integrated solution.

ForeScout has a well-established technology partner ecosystem that has been developed over the past eight years. Leading infrastructure vendors that have committed to participate in the ForeScout ControlFabric Technology Partner Program include: AirWatch, Brocade, Citrix, Fiberlink, FireEye, Fortinet, Garland Technology, Gigamon, HP, IBM, Invincea, McAfee, MobileIron, Motorola, Net Optics, Palo Alto Networks, Qualys, Red Seal, RSA, Ruckus, Securonix, Tenable, Threat Stream, Topia Technologies, VSS Monitoring and Splunk. Nearly forty additional vendors are anticipated to join later this year.

"Given that enterprises face a complex threat environment, diverse security policies and compliance requirements as well as an ever growing number of security point solutions, an open platform that provides interoperability is a must," said Gil Friedrich, vice president of technology for ForeScout. "The ControlFabric Technology Partner Program not only makes it easy for third-party security companies to integrate their solutions with CounterACT, it is also a platform for corporate IT to automate their day-to-day tasks and to exchange information and actions between security solutions. Making security solutions work together and automatically turn information into actions improves the company's overall security posture and optimizes resources."

The ControlFabric partner program provides the foundation for technical, sales and marketing cooperation to maximize joint business opportunities. Partners enjoy an array of benefits including:

  • Development access to the CounterACT solution, ControlFabric Interface tools and support
  • Increased awareness via co-branded marketing collateral, website reference and partner designation
  • Co-marketing activities such as press releases, solution briefs, case studies and videos
  • Lead generation through joint webinars, seminars and industry events
  • Sales training activities and best practices workshops
  • Participation in the ControlFabric technology partner demo center to showcase specific use cases

"Fine-grained information about users and devices as they access and navigate an enterprise network is essential to defending against today's advanced cyberthreats, especially as threats are increasingly perpetrated through mobile and remote access channels," said Chad Kinzelberg, senior vice president of business and corporate development at Palo Alto Networks. "Through participation in the ForeScout ControlFabric Technology Program, Palo Alto Networks maps this valuable information directly to security policies and automatically provisions adjustments to increase an organization's overall security posture."

"By participating in ForeScout's ControlFabric program, McAfee is demonstrating its commitment to work with leading security innovators, which is the foundation for our own program, the Security Innovation Alliance," said Ed Barry, vice president of the Security Innovation Alliance at McAfee. "By partnering with ForeScout, our customers will gain seamless interoperability between ForeScout's platform and our enterprise security solutions in order to automate a wide variety of security and compliance processes."

"In today's threat landscape, all data is security relevant and requires a solution that delivers real-time insights. ForeScout CounterACT captures network and endpoint activity. Once ForeScout data is integrated with Splunk software, our customers can see this data in the broader context of user activity and apply analytics to augment their view of critical security issues," said Bill Gaylord, senior vice president of business development at Splunk. "Leveraging the interoperability of Splunk Enterprise and ForeScout not only helps customers to more rapidly and confidently identify problems but also automates controls to directly mitigate threats."

"FireEye's goal is to enable companies to gain continuous protection from advanced cyberattacks. To accomplish this requires organizations to be armed with the best technology and have the ability to coordinate defenses," said Ashar Aziz, founder and CTO at FireEye. "By bringing together best-of-breed security products, the ControlFabric Technology Partner Program provides customers with the level of correlated control and automated response necessary to protect brand, intellectual property and data."

"Mobility is forcing global enterprises to reevaluate the traditional enterprise security model as they look to broadly deploy new mobile app and BYOD initiatives," said Ojas Rege, vice president, strategy, MobileIron. "The ForeScout ControlFabric interface allows MobileIron customers to gain a deeper level of visibility into device, application, data and network resources in order to build and enforce intelligent policies for the Mobile First enterprise."

"Whether the end user is connecting via a mobile device or by computer, IT departments demand clear visibility in order to properly maintain the network and its security policies," said Jed Blees, director of data center solutions, Brocade. "As a member of ForeScout's ControlFabric Technology Partner Program, Brocade will leverage its data center networking leadership to further simplify network access control management for IT departments worldwide."

"Joining ForeScout's ControlFabric partner program aligns with Gigamon's philosophy of enabling our customers to achieve pervasive visibility across all network topologies for their best-of-breed monitoring and security solutions," said Tara Reeve, director of strategic alliances at Gigamon. "By combining Gigamon's intelligent Visibility Fabric architecture, which delivers only the relevant data from various networks while optimizing that traffic for the connected tools, with ForeScout CounterACT, we are able to provide IT teams the ability to increase connectivity and maintain seamless network visibility while sustaining a high level of security."

"ForeScout has integrated our vulnerability data for years to help joint customers make network access decisions based on the security posture of the endpoints," said Wolfgang Kandek, CTO at Qualys. "Now with the new ForeScout ControlFabric bi-directional interface, we can significantly improve the integration with real-time asset status visibility, allowing customers to quarantine vulnerable endpoints with high security risks or policy violations."
