ISSI Announces Sampling of Industry Standard 29 Se

MILPITAS, Calif., Oct. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISSI ), a leader in advanced memory solutions, today announced it has begun sampling production units of its new family of the IS29-series of Parallel NOR devices. This is the first of a family of devices that will be offered in densities ranging from 32Mb to 1Gb and are targeted towards the industry standard x29 parallel flash. All devices are compliant with JEDEC Common Flash Interface (CFI compatible) and are meant to be a drop in replacements to the popular x29 series of industry standard parallel flash.

The IS29LV032T/B is the first in the family of devices to be released and is offered in Top and Bottom Boot configurations. The IS29LV032T/B is a 32-Megabit, electrically erasable, read/write non-volatile flash memory, and is organized as 4Mx8 or 2Mx16. Any word can be programmed typically in 8µs. The IS29LV032T/B features 3.0V read and write operation, with access times of 90ns to eliminate the need for WAIT states in high-performance microprocessor systems.

Separate Output Enable (OE#), Chip Enable (CE#), and Write Enable (WE#) controls, eliminate bus contention issues. Each Sector can be individually protected against program/erase operations or temporarily unprotected to allow an erase or program operation. The device can sustain a minimum of 100K program/erase cycles on each sector.

Availability

Samples of the IS29LV032 (32Mb) are offered in Top and Bottom Boot configurations with an input range of 2.7 to 3.6V. Volume production shipments of the 32Mb Parallel NOR devices are expected to begin in Q4, 2013 and automotive grade parts are expected to begin in Q2'2014. The 64Mb, 128Mb, 256Mb and other high-density parallel flash will be announced in the coming quarters.
