AmeriHealth Caritas Appoints Information Technolog

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 14, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, announced today that Fred Dickson is joining the company as senior vice president, Information Solutions, effective today. AmeriHealth Caritas is a majority-owned subsidiary of Independence Blue Cross; Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan holds a minority interest.

Dickson brings more than 25 years of experience as a corporate information systems leader, the majority of which was spent in executive positions in health care companies. In this newly created position, Dickson will report to Anne Morrissey, executive vice president and chief operating officer of AmeriHealth Caritas.

Dickson comes to AmeriHealth Caritas from Coventry Health Care, where, as vice president of information technology, he was responsible for directing the company's IT strategy, planning, quality assurance and testing, enterprise architecture, project management, vendor management, IT training and corporate systems. He previously served as chief information officer for the Marshfield Clinic's Security Health Plan and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. Dickson started his career at Prudential Insurance Company and later joined The Pillsbury Company.
