Stockmann Group's revenue in September 2013 and the Crazy Days campaign in October 2013

Helsinki, Finland, 2013-10-14 10:30 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- STOCKMANN plc, Company Announcement 14.10.2013 at 11.30 EET The Stockmann Group’s revenue amounted to EUR 154.8 million in September 2013. Excluding the terminated franchising operations in Russia and Finland, revenue was down 8.6 per cent on the previous year. The market environment continued to be weak in Finland. The Russian, Swedish and Norwegian currencies also declined against the euro. The Department Store Division’s revenue was down 9.6 per cent, if the terminated franchising operations are excluded. Revenue was down 11.3 per cent in Finland. Euro-denominated revenue in international operations was down 6.1 per cent. Revenue in the Russian department stores was on a par with the previous year in roubles. The Crazy Days campaign, which took place in all department stores and in the online store in October, reached a new sales record with a growth of approximately two per cent. The campaign’s euro-denominated revenue improved in all market areas, despite the weak Russian rouble. Sales were particularly up in the online store in Finland. The Fashion Chain Division’s revenue in September was down 7.2 per cent; down 10.0 per cent in Finland and down 6.6 per cent in international operations. Lindex’s euro-denominated revenue was 6.5 per cent less than a year earlier. Revenue in local currencies was down 4.9 per cent. In 2012 Lindex had a very successful Pink Ribbon campaign with Missoni in September. This year the Pink Ribbon campaign started only in October. Seppälä’s revenue was down 11.3 per cent, partly due to several closed stores during the past 12 months. Revenue (exclusive of VAT) in September
