The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Voting Rights Notification according to Section 26, Subsection 1, Sentence 1, of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) Pursuant to Section 21, Subsection 1, of WpHG Mr. Kai-Christian Franken, a legal resident of Germany, notified us that as a purchaser of a share of the undivided estate of Horst Sartorius in Sartorius AG (ISIN: DE0007165607 ordinary shares), with its registered office in Goettingen, and domiciled at Weender Landstrasse 94-108, 37075 Goettingen, Germany, his share of voting rights on December 28, 2010, exceeded the thresholds of 3%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and 50% and, on that date, totaled 58.98% of the voting rights (5,520,484 voting rights) in Sartorius AG. Of this total percentage, 50.09%, corresponding to 4,688,540 voting rights, are to be attributed to Mr. Kai-Christian Franken as he is a member of the community of heirs regarding the estate of Horst Sartorius. These voting rights continue to be subject to administration by the executor. The remaining percentage of 8.89%, corresponding to 831,944 voting rights, is to be attributed to Mr. Kai-Christian Franken pursuant to Section 22, Subsection 1, sentence 1, no. 1, of WpHG. These voting rights are held directly as treasury shares by Sartorius AG, the company that is under the direct control of the community of heirs regarding the estate of Horst Sartorius.
