Basis Technology Announces Basis Tech Week 2013

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 9, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Basis Technology , the global leader in multilingual search and text analytics, announced today it will host Basis Tech Week 2013 for government and commercial organizations looking for best practices in information discovery. Taking place November 4-7, 2013 at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, VA, Basis Tech Week 2013 brings together three compelling conferences on Open Source Digital Forensics , Open Source Search and Human Language Technology . Each event is free for government employees.

Each of the three conferences brings a unique view on information discovery with speakers who range from Eric Brown, Director of Watson Technologies for IBM and Donna Harmon with NIST, to Nick Bemish with DIA and Doug Naquin, a retired CIA senior executive. Specifics for each conference include:

4th Annual Open Source Digital Forensics Conference (November 5 plus tutorials from the 4-7)

Offers investigators and developers the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in free and extensible open source software, allowing users to add new tools to their arsenal without impacting budgets. Attendees will network with fellow users and developers, learn best practices and help direct the future of open source digital forensics.

3rd Annual Open Source Search Conference (November 6)

Brings together leading technologists, IT strategists, and program managers from both the government and commercial sector to share the benefits and challenges unique to open source search technology. This year's conference considers open source search within the larger context of building an overall information strategy and developing the infrastructure to support it.

8th Annual HLT Conference (November 7)

Explores the latest advancements in human language technology to analyze large amounts of unstructured data used by governments and enterprises to understand human activity and communication. This conference attracts directors, senior officials, linguists, technologists, product owners and program managers whose mandate is shaped by getting the most out of HLT. Network with your peers across industry and government and learn best practices for efficiently utilizing HLT for your projects.

"Basis Tech Week brings together some of the government's and industry's most respected thought leaders to tackle today's leading digital forensics and information discovery challenges," said Carl Hoffman, CEO of Basis Technology. "This year's programs not only outline key challenges and best practices, but offer workshops and tutorial sessions so that attendees can focus on the specific issues that align with their unique needs. We look forward to the innovative ideas and collaborations that are sure to come out of these conferences."
