First Embedded Designs With Intel Atom Processor E

SAN BRUNO, Calif., Oct. 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MSC Embedded Inc., manufacturer of highly integrated standard board level products and customer-specific boards and systems, is working on the first embedded module designs based on the new Intel® Atom™ processor E3800 product family (formerly codenamed "Bay Trail"). The computer-on-modules are realized in Qseven™ and COM Express™ form factors in different performance and pricing classes. First products will be launched in Q4/2013.

The Intel® Atom™ processor E3800 product family is specifically designed for today's growing performance/watt needs of intelligent systems. Its high reliability is augmented by the processor's virtualization capability and built-in security engine. The product family is the first Intel® Atom™ processor to offer an error correcting code (ECC) that delivers a high level of data integrity, reliability, and system uptime which is ideal for many intelligent systems, such as factory equipment that typically runs 24/7.
With Intel® Gen 7 graphics, this new SoC family enables fast video conversions, stereoscopic 3D capabilities, and high-resolution graphics over standard interfaces such as HDMI. The enhanced video HD technology makes possible immersive Web browsing and HD playback.
