CompTIA President and CEO Todd Thibodeaux to Parti

BALTIMORE, Oct. 8, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CompTIA , the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, announced today that its president and chief executive officer, Todd Thibodeaux, will join other cybersecurity leaders from education, government and the private sector at the CyberMaryland 2013 Conference here this week.

Thibodeaux will present one of the nation's first cyber resumes at the conference, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. (ET) Tuesday, Oct. 8, with Cybersecurity Ideation Day. This web-based interactive classroom experience will allow students to "test drive" future careers in cybersecurity by living a day in the life of the nation's cybersecurity leaders through the America's LifeJourney Mentors program.

Rick Geritz, chief executive officer of LifeJourney , will host the Cyber Generation Session at the conference.

Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski, III, president of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the opening session.

Robin "Montana" Williams, branch chief for Cybersecurity Education & Awareness with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will join CompTIA's Thibodeaux in handing out the nation's first cyber resumes. Teachers, principals and students will participate in the program as well.

Students will choose from over 100 different cybersecurity LifeJourneys (e.g., digital forensic analyst, threat manager, CISO, data scientist) produced by leading companies, including RSA, CyberPoint, Symantec, Lockheed Martin, Damballa, SafeNet, Kaspersky, Tripwire, KEYW, KoolSpan, Hexis Cyber Solutions, General Dynamics, Convergence, Sourcefire, Battelle, TechGuard, COPT and others.

Each student will receive a detailed report on the skills they'll need to achieve their intended goals, including a fully updated Cyber Resume that illustrates each step on their future journey to achieve an internship and job.
