Welcome to Alternative Fuels Americas
Alternative Fuels Americas, Inc. (OTCQB:AFAI) is an advanced stage multi-feedstock seed-to-pump green energy company establishing "above ground" oil fields and exploring broader opportunities throughout the Americas.
AFAI is focused on producing jet fuel, marine fuel, fuel for trucking and commercial transportation, fuel to power industrial processes, and fuel to enable human mobility. The raw material (feedstock) is grown on our own farms and will be processed into biofuel in company owned oil refineries.
To reach our goals we have engaged in more than 5 years of intense agricultural trials on high yield oil-rich crops and developed key strategic practices that ensure sustainability and profitability. We have the management team, science, engineering, processes, strategies, and experience necessary to establish and sustain a world class biofuels company.
Fueling the World
Latin America
We are currently operating in Costa Rica a 40,000 tree pilot Jatropha plantation. Our trees are mature and currently yielding fruit. Harvesting ativities are ongoing and processing trials are underway. For Costa Rica and many Latin American countries biofuels is part of a larger national effort to lower their dependency on foreign oil, reduce their trade deficits, and create jobs in impoverished rural regions. With established agricultural infrastructures, readily available affordable land, and lower wages these countries have the cost structures necessary to support successful biofuel projects. In fact, many of these countries have mandated blending of up to 20% through legislation. AFAI is reviewing projects in Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and Colombia.
The Caribbean
The Islands of the Caribbean are seeking to lessen their 100% dependency on foreign oil by transforming a portion of their agriculture to the production of biofuel feedstocks. AFAI is reviewing projects in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Dominica.
North America
The energy paradigm in North America is experiencing a dramatic shift as politicians, environmentalists and business leaders recognize that the supply of non-renewable oil that fuels our way of life is depleting with each passing day. The focus on alternative energy has made biofuels a major priority and AFAI is proud to be a participant in this effort as we develop U.S. based projects.
