Organon Expands Women's Health Accelerator Program
Organon has proudly launched the third edition of its Women's Health Accelerator Program, focusing keenly on innovations that enhance women's health. This latest initiative not only empowers digital health companies but also addresses crucial unmet needs in family planning, fertility, and wellness across the META region.
Support for Start-ups in the META Region
In collaboration with Flat6Labs, the program will connect budding start-ups with regional investors. This gives participants the opportunity to secure funding, refine their business models, and conduct market testing effectively. By actively engaging with these entrepreneurs, Organon aims to foster innovation in women’s health across diverse markets.
Opening Doors for Applicants
Setting a precedent, the 2026 cohort invites applicants from Sub-Saharan Africa and even extends its reach into regions like Ukraine. The ethos of this program revolves around continuous growth through mentorship and collaboration among participants. Previous winners of the Accelerator will return to mentor new applicants, creating a supportive ecosystem of empowerment where experiences and expertise are shared.
Addressing Gaps in Women’s Healthcare
The Women's Health Accelerator is strategically designed to tackle persistent healthcare gaps that women face, specifically by encouraging digital solutions tailored to their unique needs. Valuable research indicates that closing the gender health gap could potentially add £1 trillion to the global economy by the year 2040. This highlights the substantial social benefits and economic returns when investing in women's health initiatives.
Organon’s Commitment to Innovation
Ramy Koussa, Associate Vice President, expressed, "By expanding our Accelerator Program across the META region, we are doubling down on Organon's commitment to invest in innovation for women's health." He emphasized how digital health innovations can lead to earlier detections of health issues, personalized care strategies, and increased access to essential services on a large scale.
Achievements of the Accelerator Program
Since its inception in 2022, this initiative has attracted around 500 applications, supporting more than 20 companies and recognizing six outstanding winners with innovative solutions, including iYoni and Siira. The program will culminate in a demo day in early Q2 2026, where finalists will present their solutions in front of judges, comprised of both investors and seasoned healthcare professionals.
The Accelerator serves not only as a platform for innovation but also highlights Organon's active role in closing health disparities faced by women across different countries.
