Nokia has revealed a major collaboration with TIM Brasil (TIM) to enhance its 5G radio access network (RAN) in 15 Brazilian states, beginning in January 2025. This strategic alliance is set to increase the number of municipalities with access to 5G technology, offering secure, high-speed connectivity to a wider audience. Under this agreement, Nokia will supply a variety of equipment from its top-tier 5G AirScale portfolio, which includes advanced baseband units, Massive MIMO radios, and Remote Radio Head devices. These technologies utilize the energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology, collectively ensuring exceptional network coverage and capacity.
Additionally, TIM will adopt Nokia's innovative MantaRay Networks Management system, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize network oversight and management.
